• Dumfries and Galloway Council through a recent procurement exercise has purchased a number of flat top electric range cookers. Unfortunately, we are seeing significant issues with the cooking plates warping both upwards and downwards. Have any other member authorities had similar issues. Without naming the product, it is a well-known brand.

• Hi all, I want to get a conversation going regarding drinks in primary schools and dehydration / hydration. Are the reduction in drinks choices in primary (only water or milk drinks compliant) resulting in dehydration or is this resulting in an increase in hydration in pupils within your local authority? At D&G we have concerns regarding the low uptake of drinks at this stage and also with the weather starting to warm up we are currently monitoring this situation. We are asking if anyone else is having the same issue(s)? Advice has been sought from the HNI officers who have gave some pointers such as adding ice cubes with fruit / mint etc to the water

• Hi all, I am wondering what other authorities are doing with desserts. We have considered adding some sweetener to one of our best selling desserts which will not be compliant. I attended a meeting with FDF Scotland which discussed reformulating desserts to reduce sugar. It was mentioned that sweetener should not be added to baked goods because of EU/UK food standards. • Hi, I am looking for some advice on the nutritional analysis. On days when where cheese is the main protein (e.g. Macaroni). Saturated fat is too high. If this is balanced out throughout the week menu is this acceptable?
